Two locks, built for the places you leave things
We at FortLocks make two combination locks and nothing else. The Gym Locker Lock carries its four dials on the front, so you read the numbers straight on while the lock hangs from a locker door. The Combination Padlock keeps the dials on the side, in the shape most of us learned on at school.
Both take a four-digit code, which gives 10,000 possible combinations. Both have a zinc alloy body and a hardened steel shackle. The difference is how you hold them and how you reset them, and our comparison page puts every size side by side.
Small choices that make a lock easier to live with
We keep the FortLocks lineup small so each lock can do one job well. The Gym Locker Lock has white digits on black dials, and you can read them at arm's length. The Combination Padlock comes in bright orange as well as black and silver.
Color is more than looks. You spot an orange lock in a long row of gray lockers at a glance. A family can give each person a color, and a team can keep one color for the equipment cage and another for the staff room.

Solid lock
This is actually a decent lock. The dial has a nice feel, not loose, and not too hard to turn, each number has a nice click to it. The lock itself feels weighty and solid, and opens and closes easily. I have not found it necessary to change the combination on it yet, but it appears to be fairly straightforward. The entire lock is probably at the largest you'd want to go for a school locker as far as fitting into the latch, but it does fit. I would probably buy this lock again if I needed just an affordable combination lock that doesn't feel cheap and hollow.

Well made lock, Easy to program your combination
The lock is heavy and seems to be well built. The numbers on the combination dial are large and high contrast, making them easy to see even in dim light. The lock comes in a variety of colors. I got the orange one because of its high visibility. Programming is quick and easy--just open the lock, remove the small screw and cover on the bottom to access reset button, slide the button to the program position, then dial in a new combination. Slide the reset button back, then replace the cover and screw. Note that when you close the shackle, it does not automatically lock. Instead you must move the combination dials to make the lock secure. This is true of most locks of this type, which is different than the old style "dial" combination locks.

Great durability even after 4 years outdoors
These locks have worked great for multiple purposes over the four years I’ve had them. I’ve used them for both indoor and outdoor applications and have been very happy with their durability. One of them has been used outdoors on the front door of our shed since I first bought them, and it is still holding up extremely well. It still looks almost like new, with no noticeable rust or other signs of weather damage. For a relatively inexpensive combination lock, I’ve been impressed with how well they have held up over time.

A Great Lock and Easy Setup
Used for a few weeks now and it been a great lock at the gym and no issues so far. Setup was easy as follow the instructions to get a screwdriver to unscrew the bottom panel, flip the switch, set up your combo, flip to switch again to save your new combo. I've had no issues so far for any malfunctions and its strong and holds up locking my belongings at the gym lockers.

What a FortLocks lock is for, and what it is not for
The FortLocks range is built around lockers: the gym, the school hallway, the staff room, a sports bag, a toolbox or a filing cabinet. The shackle on the Combination Padlock is 0.2 in (0.5 cm) thick. That is right for a locker hasp, and it keeps an honest person out of a gym bag.
It is not a lock for a garage door, a trailer hitch or a bike on a city street. Those need a thicker shackle than any lock in our lineup. We would rather you buy the right lock than the wrong one of ours.
One more thing to know before you buy: neither lock has a key or a backup code. If you forget your four digits, the lock stays shut. Write the code down somewhere safe before you set it.

What is the difference between the two FortLocks locks?

What if I forget my code?
Neither lock has a key or a backup code, so a forgotten code means the lock stays shut. Write your code down and keep it somewhere away from the lock.
